Financial Assistance
- Loan Disbursement: ENRICH offers three types of credit services. They are: Income Generating Activities Loan (IGAL), Livelihood Improvement Loan (LIL) and Asset Creation Loan (ACL). These services can be accessed simultaneously by a household.
Under IGAL, eligible household members can take loans for more than one activity or for the expansion of an activity to increase their income. In this context, economic activities with potential for productivity growth are selected. Training for skill development and upgrading, marketing assistance, and other necessary services are routinely provided. Currently, the ceiling of IGAL is BDT 1 million and the maximum service charge is 24% on a declining balance method.
The LIL is made available for repairing houses, the purchase of necessary household gadgets, and taking other actions related to livelihood improvement including defraying expenses for social functions such as the marriage of a daughter or a son. The ceiling for this loan is BDT 10,000 and the service charge is 8%.
The ACL is designed to assist a household in acquiring any kind of productive asset. The ACL ceiling for a household is BDT 30,000 and the servicing charge is 8%. All service charges are calculated in the declining balance method.
This has helped in increasing investment and generating employment in the rural areas concerned. As of April 2022, BDT 3,519 crore has been disbursed at field level as loans under ENRICH.

- Special Savings: A special savings scheme has been designed for the ultra-poor households under ENRICH. Families with disabled members and female-headed families are given priority to join this scheme. A household is advised to open a bank account and deposit a certain amount of money (at least BDT 100) every month for two years. PKSF then matches the amount (up to BDT 20,000) in terms of grants, but on condition that the total amount will be used to acquire a productive asset (e.g. land, farm animals, upgrading skills of household members, etc.) in consultation with the concerned PO and the PKSF. This helps the households move towards a better and socio-economically sustainable future. So far, about 4,000 households have been enrolled in the special savings program. Among them, 3,203 households have received about BDT 4.50 crore as matching grant after maturity. They used the money to acquire appropriate assets and for income-generating purposes.
